Volunteer with Set Her Free
Set Her Free supports interventions that target marginalized girls and youth in urban poor slums of Uganda providing comprehensive psychosocial support, rehabilitative and health services, emergency response as well as education and vocational training. Furthermore, the organisation is actively committed to end child abuse through awareness creation in Uganda’s poorest communities. In close cooperation with local authorities, Set Her Free responds to vulnerable living conditions by taking up care for girls aged 8 to 14 and young adolescent aged 14 to 22, tracking their whereabouts and referring them to suitable homes/facilities.Develop your leadership and enrich your experience through a volunteering with Set Her Free. We want you!
We welcome people that are interested in the work, the vision and mission of Set Her Free. In our day to day work we are always searching for people passionate about education and teaching a skill, are familiar with social work and providing psychosocial and rehabilitative services, or want to get to know the organisational structures of a local organisation operating in Uganda’s slum communities.
Your Profile:
- You are at least 18 years old and finished school
- You can converse confidently in the English language
- You are familiar with basic office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- You are open to new cultures and environments
- You can count communication, creativity and pro-activeness to your strengths
- Experience in education, social work or similar fields are a plus as well as experiences working and living in an African country
Your Tasks:
- Be open about your strengths: you can individually shape your time at Set Her Free
- Support the SHF staff in their daily operations
- You will get to know our currently running projects and get to decide in which area you want to work
